Indonesian Climate Leader to Represent Southeast Asia

Recently announced by the UN, Indonesian sociopreneur Zagy Berian has been appointed to the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres’ Youth Advisory Group on Climate Change, where he will serve as the sole representative from Southeast Asia (indonesia.un.org). The expanded 14-member group advises the UN with practical, outcome-focused input on climate action. Zagy, founder of the Society of Renewable Energy, has advanced renewable-energy education for farmers in Central Java and contributes to the G20 Energy Transition Working Group, ASEAN youth forums, and the Youth Climate Justice Fund. He pledged to amplify Southeast Asian perspectives, stressing collaboration and youth leadership to build a more sustainable, climate-resilient future. oa-icon
